If you sleep 6 to 8 hours a night, you will basically be spending in between a fourth to a third of your life in bed. Because you spend so much time in bed, it is important to make your bed incredibly comfortable. One creature comfort is a mattress warmer. This can make your bed very inviting on a chilly winter night. If you live in a cold climate, jumping into a cold bed is less then relaxing.
